Medical Abortion

Terminating of pregnancy in early weeks of gestation. Possible, if  ultrasound confirmed uterine, non-ectopic pregnancy and accurate pregnancy dating is present.

Pharmaceutical abortion is indicated in cases of:

• patient’s choice and no contraindications for the procedure;

• very early gestation dates (up to 7weeks);

• severe obesity (BMI greater than 30) with no other cardiovascular risk factors;

•  presence of fibroid uterus or uterine malformation.

Surgical abortion may be preferred:

• if there are contraindications for medical abortion;

• if simultaneous IUD insertion is requested;

• if there is no way of follow-up (patient leaving the country or a very heavy working schedule)
